Overview
The Lost World: Jurassic Park is a 1997 American science fiction adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg and written by David Koepp. The movie is the sequel to the 1993 film Jurassic Park and is based on the 1995 novel of the same name by Michael Crichton. The film stars Jeff Goldblum, Julianne Moore, Pete Postlethwaite, and Vince Vaughn.

Plot Summary
Four years after the events of the first film, John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) loses control of his company InGen to his nephew, Peter Ludlow (Peter Postlethwaite). Ludlow plans to exploit the dinosaurs from InGen’s second island, Isla Sorna, to save the company from bankruptcy by opening a new dinosaur theme park in San Diego.

Hammond, determined to prevent this exploitation, sends a team to Isla Sorna to document the dinosaurs and encourage non-interference. The team includes Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), a mathematician and chaos theorist; Dr. Sarah Harding (Julianne Moore), a paleontologist; Eddie Carr (Richard Schiff), a technology expert; and Nick Van Owen (Vince Vaughn), a video documentarian and activist.

Upon arrival on the island, they discover that Ludlow’s team, led by big-game hunter Roland Tembo (Pete Postlethwaite), is also present with the intention of capturing several dinosaurs. The two groups soon find themselves in conflict as they navigate the dangers of the island.

Key Events

Ambush: The team is ambushed by a pack of Velociraptors in a field of long grass, leading to the death of several team members.
Rescue: Ian’s group manages to reach an abandoned InGen base and successfully radio for helicopter extraction.
