Pretty in Pink

Pretty in Pink Movie Poster delivers a gorgeous dose of 1980s nostalgia, bringing Molly Ringwald, Andrew McCarthy and Jon Cryer together in a soft, pink-washed composition that feels instantly cinematic. Ringwald’s Andie takes centre stage in her floral dress and layered jewellery, while the period jackets and shirts worn by McCarthy and Cryer reinforce the film’s distinctive teenage world. A textured wall and window frame add depth behind the characters, while the vertical lettering, featuring words such as laughter, lovers, friends, jealousy, passion and pressure, cleverly distils the emotional journey of the story. Released in 1986, Pretty in Pink explores first love, friendship, social class and teenage uncertainty, with Harry Dean Stanton, Annie Potts and James Spader also among the memorable cast. No artist or poster designer is identified for this artwork.
