Old School is a 2003 American comedy film directed and co-written by Todd Phillips. Plot Summary
The story revolves around Mitch Martin (Luke Wilson), a real estate attorney who returns home early from a business trip to find his girlfriend Heidi (Juliette Lewis) participating in an orgy. This shocking discovery leads to a breakup and sets Mitch on a path to rediscover his youth. At his friend Frank’s (Will Ferrell) wedding, Mitch makes an awkward impression on his high school crush, Nicole (Ellen Pompeo), and soon moves into a house near Harrison University campus in upstate New York.
Mitch’s friend Bernard (Vince Vaughn) throws a successful housewarming party, dubbed Mitch-A-Palooza. However, the party quickly turns into a fraternity house, with Frank streaking through the streets and causing a stir. The friends are visited by an acquaintance they used to ridicule: Gordon Pritchard (Jeremy Piven), now the college dean, who has had the house rezoned exclusively for campus housing. Exploiting a university loophole, Bernard turns the house into an unofficial fraternity open to anyone, leading to a series of hazing events and misadventures throughout campus.
As the story unfolds, the friends face various challenges, including a birthday party where Mitch walks in on Nicole’s boyfriend Mark (Craig Kilborn) cheating, leading to Nicole dumping Mark and reconciling with Mitch. The fraternity also faces their final athletics challenge, which they triumph in despite some setbacks. However, Pritchard tries to sabotage them by giving them a failing score due to the absence of their deceased fraternity brother Blue (Patrick Cranshaw). The friends manage to recover a tape recording of Pritchard admitting to bribery, leading to his firing and the reinstatement of their fraternity charter.
