Jurassic World
Overview
Jurassic World is a 2015 American science fiction action film directed by Colin Trevorrow. The movie is the fourth installment in the Jurassic Park film series and the first in the Jurassic World series. It is based on characters created by Michael Crichton and stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D’Onofrio, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Omar Sy, BD Wong, and Irrfan Khan.
Plot
The film takes place 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park and follows the story of Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), the operations manager of Jurassic World, a theme park on Isla Nublar. The park, which was built on the original site of Jurassic Park, features cloned dinosaurs and has been a major tourist attraction for years.
However, the park’s newest attraction, the genetically modified hybrid dinosaur Indominus Rex, escapes from its enclosure and goes on a killing spree. The Indominus Rex is a transgenic dinosaur created by geneticist Dr. Henry Wu (BD Wong) and is designed to be more intelligent and adaptable than any other dinosaur in the park.
Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), a Navy veteran and ethologist, has been training a Velociraptor squad composed of Blue, Charlie, Delta, and Echo. He is tasked with evaluating the security of the Indominus Rex enclosure, but his warnings about the dinosaur’s unpredictability are ignored.
As the Indominus Rex wreaks havoc on the park, Owen and Claire must work together to contain the situation and save the lives of the visitors. The film also explores themes of corporate greed, scientific ethics, and the dangers of playing with nature.
