Storyline
The story revolves around Carrie White, a shy and isolated high school student who is constantly bullied by her classmates. Her mother, Margaret White, is a strict and religious woman who believes that any form of sex or menstruation is sinful. Carrie’s first menstruation is a traumatic experience for her, and she panics when she notices blood running down her legs in the shower. Unaware of what is happening, she screams for help, which leads to her being teased by her classmates Sue Snell, Chris Hargenson, and Norma.
The humiliation at school culminates in Carrie being humiliated at the prom, where she is doused in pig’s blood by Chris and Billy Nolan. This event triggers Carrie’s telekinetic powers, leading to a series of devastating events that result in the destruction of the school gym and the death of several students.
