Plot Summary
Opening Scene
The film opens with Thanos (played by Josh Brolin) and his Black Order, consisting of Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight, Cull Obsidian, and Corvus Glaive, attacking the Asgardian evacuation ship. Thanos demands the Tesseract from Loki (Tom Hiddleston), who reluctantly hands it over to spare Thor (Chris Hemsworth). Thanos kills Loki and Heimdall (Idris Elba) before leaving Thor for dead.
The Hunt for Infinity Stones
Thanos, already in possession of the Power Stone, begins his quest to collect the remaining five Infinity Stones. He intercepts the Asgardian survivors and extracts the Space Stone from the Tesseract. The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) attempts to stop him but is overpowered and sent to Earth via the Bifrost.
The Guardians of the Galaxy
Meanwhile, the Guardians of the Galaxy—Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), and Mantis (Pom Klementieff)—respond to the distress call from the Asgardian ship. They rescue Thor and embark on a mission to stop Thanos. Thor travels to Nidavellir to forge a new weapon, Stormbreaker, while the Guardians head to Knowhere to find the Reality Stone.
Wakanda and the Mind Stone
On Earth, the Avengers, including Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), and Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), team up with T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) and the Wakandan forces to defend against Thanos’ army. Shuri (Letitia Wright) attempts to extract the Mind Stone from Vision (Paul Bettany), but Thanos arrives and uses the Time Stone to reverse Wanda’s actions, killing Vision and obtaining the Mind Stone.
Titan and the Time Stone
Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Peter Parker (Tom Holland), and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) travel to Titan to stop Thanos. They form an alliance with the Guardians and devise a plan to seize the Infinity Gauntlet. However, Thanos breaks their hold and overpowers them, eventually obtaining the Time Stone.
The Soul Stone
Thanos kidnaps Gamora and tortures Nebula (Karen Gillan) until Gamora reveals the location of the Soul Stone. On Vormir, Thanos sacrifices Gamora to obtain the Soul Stone, earning him the respect of Red Skull (Ross Marquand), the keeper of the planet.
The Final Battle
The combined forces of the Avengers and the Guardians launch a final assault on Thanos. Despite their efforts, Thanos uses the Infinity Gauntlet to snap his fingers, causing half of all life in the universe to disintegrate. The film ends with a poignant scene where surviving characters like Tony Stark, Nebula, and Thor are left to grapple with the devastating consequences of Thanos’ actions.
